Sensory Garden Project at West Horsley Place

Sensory Garden Project at West Horsley Place

West Horsley Place is looking for people who are blind, partially sighted or have any vision impairment and their companions, to collaborate with on a new multi-sensory garden in the grounds.

As part of a larger NHLF project ‘Heritage without Barriers’ the sensory garden will be created in collaboration with users and their companions, who will plan and develop the design with the help and support of the garden team. This is a unique chance to be involved in helping to develop an existing area into a multi-sensory experience for all.

There will be three sessions to develop the multi-sensory garden, if you can attend all of the sessions you would be able to see the whole of the project, but it would be great to have you on board for any of the sessions.

There will be three sessions, all at 2-4pm at West Horsley Place, West Horsley, Leatherhead KT24 6AW

Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be provided and transport expenses will be paid.

  • Tuesday 11 October – Learn more about the Garden as it currently is and tell them about what you want.
  • Tuesday 18 October – Help plan what goes into the garden.
  • Tuesday 1 November – Make final decisions about the garden design.

For more information, please contact Heather Thomas - heath146@hotmail.com.

There will also be a chance to get involved with assisting with some planting later in November – details TBC.
